What kind of editing does your book needs?

It can be tricky to determine the type of editing your manuscript requires. Sometimes, you wouldn’t know there are glaring issues until an editor gets a good look at it.

That’s why you have different types of editing to choose from! Each service package is tailored to a specific problem your manuscript contains.

Don’t know what to choose? Contact me for a brief assessment which will help you decide the editing service that fits your needs.

How does the editing process works?

Editing is a multi-stage process that takes time—sometimes even longer than writing the book itself.

Here at Red Line Editing, your manuscript will undergo meticulous and extensive editing depending on the package you choose. Each one is designed for the current state of your manuscript; if you feel like your story is already perfect, for example, you can skip the developmental editing process and move on to the line/copy editing stage to polish your prose.

Here are the various packages you can avail:

First Chapter Critique

Perfect for unfinished manuscripts. Essentially a sample edit, you will receive a detailed critique of your story’s first chapter covering its strengths and weaknesses.

Manuscript Assessment

The pre-editing stage. Your entire manuscript will be evaluated for its strengths and weaknesses to determine what type of editing it needs.

Developmental Editing

The first stage in the editing process. Focuses on the big picture aspects of your manuscripts.

Line/Copy Editing

The next stage after developmental editing. Scrutinizes sentence and paragraph line by line, ensuring that your prose flows well.

Proofreading

One of the last stages before publication. A final check for minuscule errors.

Formatting & Typesetting

The final stage of the editing process. Ensures that your book is fully readable and fit for printing or digital release.

About Your Editor

Hi, I’m Kenneth. Ever since I’ve learned how to read, I’ve been fascinated with books, both fiction and non-fiction. During the time I was cooped up in the four corners of my bedroom due to my illness, books became my windows to the outside world.

On 2014, I decided to be an author. I wrote fanfictions for three years, until I realized that I’m ready to write a book based on my own ideas. Thus, I published my very first novel, The Reaper of Iremia, on Amazon in 2019.

Since then, I’ve worked on other personal projects. The 2020 Covid pandemic, however, propelled me to a new career that also helped me improve my craft: editing. Years later, I’ve helped over 50+ Fiverr clients edit their books and documents, from fantasy to memoirs, marketing books, and even legal documents.

Honing my craft is my passion, and I always take pride with my work as I know the struggles and hardships of publishing a book only to find terrifying typos, misspellings, incorrect grammar usage, and even the dreaded plot holes.

So don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I will help you polish your book so it will shine brighter than ever before.
